It is a museum that began its services in the year 1920 with the acquisition of a collection of Zoology that was part of the Natural Sciences room.
It is made up of nine sections which have the following exhibition rooms: Photography, Numismatics, Entomology, Zoology, Ethnography, Archeology, Petrography, Mineralogy, Human Anatomy and Botany.

It is located in the lower part of the Instituto Superior Bolívar. Sucre and Lalama streets.
Opening date
It was created in 1918 but began its services in the year 1,920.
Attractive
The museum began with a collection of 200 copies of Zoology, currently the museum is equipped to present its nine sections distributed in 11 exhibition rooms:
• Numismatics Room: 80 coins from different countries of the world, commemorative medals from Ecuador and notes from 34 countries are exhibited.
Collection of coins from Ecuador: it has 156 coins: 17 from the 19th century, 132 coins from the 20th century and 2 macuquinas from the 16th century.
• Photography Room: It has 94 photographs of Landscapes of Ecuador, taken at the beginning of the 20th century.
• Zoology Room: The third and largest room with a collection of vertebrates, fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals, all components of the continental and insular Ecuadorian fauna, distributed in their ecosystems and presented through dioramas.
Botanical Section: In the Botanical section or fourth room you can see the Disc of the first eucalyptus planted in Ecuador (Ambato), in 1865. Cut 13 meters above the ground. Total height 75 meters. Circumference of the trunk at a height of one meter above the ground 8 meters. Cut in 1949. We can also observe medicinal plants from the province of Tungurahua.
• Petrography Room: In the Petrography area you can admire a meteorite, weighing 192 kilos. Assorted rocks and minerals. Samples of marble from Ecuador from the Provinces of Azuay, Cañar, Loja and Chimborazo.
• Ethnography Room: Within the ethnic groups of Ecuador there are a series of clothing as well as ornaments and indigenous musical instruments of the mountainous region and the eastern region, among which are:
Costumes of dancers from the Province of Tungurahua.
Garments of the Eastern Region of the Ethnic Groups: Huaorani, Zápara, Quichua, Cofán, Tetetes, Shuaras-Achuaras.
• Archeology Room: In this room it is possible to admire ceramics from the different cultures of Ecuador and especially from the province of Tungurahua as collections of cultures: Cotocollao 2000 years BC; Puruhá 700 years B.C .; Cosanga Píllaro 700 years B.C .; Incas 1450 years BC; Rejo de Sol Colonial.
• Anatomy Room: The museum presents human fetuses of different gestation times, human bone samples, and a complete natural female skeleton.
