La Casona Museo Miguel Grau is the owner of one of the most important historical relics that Peruvian culture possesses. This house belonged to the grandfather of our famous hero Miguel Grau Seminario, where he was born and spent most of his life. The singular square-shaped house was severely affected by the 1912 earthquake, being almost destroyed and abandoned. After many years, its reconstruction began by the Peruvian Navy, delivering it on July 27, 1989 with the name it currently has.



It is located on Calle Tacna, previously called Mercaderes. Attention: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. at 12:00 m, and from 3:30 p.m. at 6:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. at 12:00 m.



The museum contains a valuable historical collection, among which the letter from Carmen Carvajal (wife of the Chilean killed in the Angamos combat), the orchard, the room of our hero and his newborn cradle, the sword that belonged to Miguel stands out. Jerónimo Seminario, photographs of the great and luxurious parties held in 1906, and the replica of the majestic Huáscar monitor.



The main objective of this museum is to publicize the important work of dignity and humanity of our brave hero of the Seas, as well as her clearest example of gallantry and national spirit.
