Cradle of the Cayask Culture you can appreciate the archaeological sites of this culture.

In front of the imposing Yarahuayna snow-capped mountain, are the pre-Inca remains of Antamarca and Chaulín, in excellent state of conservation.



CHURÍN is located in the district of Pachangara, Province of Oyon, 210 km northwest of Lima, initially taking the North Pan-American Highway and then an affirmed detour to the east. An inter-Andean town famous for its medicinal thermo-mining water sources; which is at 2,080 m.a.s.l. Hundreds of visitors arrive here every weekend to enjoy the fresh air, the spectacular mountain scenery and the sanatorium benefits of its proverbial hot water pools.

This cozy little town dresses up to receive its visitors especially in the Holy Week festivities, in the month of the Fatherland and in September, when they pay homage to their patron saint, the Virgen de las Mercedes. Its patronal festival lasts for seven days, during which the entire town celebrates with joy in the streets and squares.



The huayno continues to be the maximum artistic expression of the peoples of the Andes and Churín could not be the exception, Churín is therefore a people that sings and dances.



In its streets, one can still find women, men and children, dressed in their typical costumes. In the middle of the main square, the pleasant Serrano bread is offered in the classic baskets. Nobody could believe that so close to Lima you can enjoy the particular charms of the Andean villages.
