Refuge of a cultural heritage that includes more than 10,000 years of history, the San Miguel de Azapa Archaeological Museum is another of the main archaeological attractions of the region.



Located just over 10 kilometers from the Azapa Valley, it has anthropological vestiges and picturesque native flora and fauna surroundings.



Privileged with favorable climatic conditions, in its outskirts it is possible to find petroglyphs while in the interior there is a chronological sample that ranges from the period of fishermen and hunters prior to the period of the Chinchorro mummies to the Aymara shepherds, which can be photographed with prior authorization from the museum.



The exhibition includes more than 20 thousand pieces that depict the development of the population divided into three sections that include themes about the land and the sea, men and agricultural and artisan production, and the magical and religious world.
