Surfing in Brazil originated in Santos in 1938, with Osmar Gonçalvez who was 16 at the time. The first Brazilian board was 3.9 meters and 80 kg.
The museum's ice cream shop shows the history of this surfer and many others who passed by the beaches of Santos.
There you can also see the evolution of the boards, through 70 exposed boards, going from the huge wooden boards to the current fiber boards.
The museum is located on the Santos breakwater, where there is also a skate park, a grandstand to watch the surfers and the sunset.
