On September 7, the united army of Don José de San Martín was in front of Paracas, in the bay of Pisco in the present Ica region of Peru, and on September 8, 1820, they disembarked and occupied Pisco.



Disembarked, San Martín addressed a proclamation to his troops and established a code of ethics for the best behavior of them during the campaign that was about to begin. A detachment disembarked took up positions in Chincha.



On September 14, 1820, the viceroy of Peru, Captain Joaquín de la Pezuela, who had sworn to comply with the 1812 Liberal Constitution of Spain, by order of Fernando VII, sent a letter to San Martín offering to enter into negotiations.



On September 15, San Martín agreed to enter into negotiations. As of September 25, the patriots and royalists enter into first negotiations in what has been called the Miraflores Conferences, which concluded on October 4 without reaching any conclusion.



General José de San Martín was the creator of the national flag of Peru. It was inspired by the flight of flamingos or parihuanas in Paracas, by its red, white, red colors.









Paracas (Quechua: para (wind) and Aco, sand, Paraaco ´´lluvia de arena´´ Castilianized to ´´Paracas´´ because in this place the winds carry sand; these winds can reach a speed of 32 km per hour It is a port city on the central coast of Ica, capital of the homonymous Pisco district.



It is located east of a small bay north of the Paracas Peninsula, 22 km south of Pisco. It is 75 km from Ica and 261 km from Lima.

Its climate has an annual average temperature of 22 ºC and is mostly sunny. It is a very windy territory whose very strong sand-carrying air currents, known as paracas, have an average speed of 25 km / h and maximum speeds of 60 km / h.

Paracas is located in the department of Ica and the province of Pisco in Peru.



Due to its proximity to the sea, Paracas is a spa in the shape of a bay. The attraction of this resort is its climate, beach and beautiful residences built there.



Paracas covers an area of ​​335,000 hectares, of which 117,406 are on land and 217,594 on marine waters.



Paracas has been declared a regional reserve for migratory birds.











The main attractions of this spa are its pleasant climate, its beach, its residences by the sea, the yacht club, the hotel and its restaurants with typical local and marine cuisine based on fish and seafood.



From its fishing port, excursions begin to visit the Ballestas Islands and Chincha Islands. Also, within its limits is the Paracas National Reserve.
